Hartford Jet Center celebrates Hartford-Brainard's 99th anniversary from May 21 to June 21 with $0.99 off per gallon for 15 gallons or a top-off. They'll also have hot dogs & hamburgers on the weekends from 11am-3pm. All pilots and flying enthusiasts are welcome! All donations will be donated to first responders and their families. The event will adhere to all CDC guidelines and social distancing rules. Learn more about the history of Brainard Field from the Connecticut Historical Society.

Club members got together on the morning of January 26 for a free ground school session from club CFIs Matthew Macaluso and Dave Chapdelaine. Matthew started off by discussing requirements for entering all the various airspaces, with a focus on the FAA'S ADS-B mandate that took effect in 2020. Then, armed with simulated Garmin GNX 375's on their iPads, Dave walked the students through all the various menus, features, and settings of the brand new GPS avionics that will be shortly available in two club aircraft – N5126V and N7091G.
